ICONIC HONG KONG
THE BRIEF
This project began as a collection of Hong Kong-inspired canvases, created to capture the unmistakable energy, character and visual identity of the city. Each composition brings together a carefully curated selection of iconic Hong Kong imagery - from the harbour and traditional junks to red taxis, double-decker buses, street scenes, local signage, markets, landmarks and cultural details.
The original collection centres around a predominantly black-and-white photographic palette punctuated by vivid Hong Kong red. The selective use of red creates a strong visual thread throughout the artwork, drawing attention to instantly recognisable details while reflecting a colour deeply associated with Hong Kong’s identity, energy and cultural heritage.
The collection developed into both non-personalised and personalised editions. The non-personalised canvases celebrate Hong Kong through familiar places, objects and everyday scenes, while the personalised versions introduce clients’ own photographs into the composition. Family portraits, meaningful locations and personal memories can sit alongside recognisable Hong Kong imagery, transforming each canvas into an individual visual story and a lasting connection to the city.
Following a special client request, the collection expanded beyond its signature red palette into a series of blue-accented designs. Inspired by Hong Kong’s harbour, blue-and-white ceramics and traditional decorative details, this alternative direction retains the monochromatic photographic style while giving the artwork a softer, more refined character.
With more colourways, compositions, personalised options and gift-card versions coming soon, the collection continues to evolve while remaining centred on one idea: celebrating Hong Kong not simply as a place, but through the icons, colours, experiences and personal memories that make it meaningful.
STYLING IDEAS
GIFT CARDS
The project has now extended beyond wall art with the introduction of Hong Kong gift cards, carrying the same collage aesthetic into a smaller, giftable format. The cards provide another way to share a piece of Hong Kong, whether as a keepsake, a thoughtful gift or something to accompany one of the personalised canvases.
