HONG KONG WORD ART
ART PRINT SERIES
THE BRIEF
This collection of typographic canvases celebrates Hong Kong through the words, places, experiences and cultural references that make the city instantly recognisable. Rather than relying on traditional photography, each artwork builds a portrait of Hong Kong through expressive typography, creating a contemporary piece that feels both graphic and personal.
The compositions bring together familiar references including Hong Kong, Victoria Harbour, the Peak, Star Ferry, trams, Lamma Island, Lan Kwai Fong, Tsim Sha Tsui, Stanley Market, Hollywood Road, Big Buddha, city lights, typhoons, junk boats and local food culture. Small illustrative icons are woven into the typography, adding another layer of Hong Kong identity without overwhelming the design.
A varied mix of typefaces, scale, weight and orientation gives each canvas its distinctive rhythm. Words are tightly arranged to create a visual journey through the city, with larger statements balanced against smaller details waiting to be discovered.
The collection has evolved into several colourways, from classic Hong Kong red and monochrome through to navy, turquoise and more personalised palettes, allowing the artwork to work across different interiors while retaining the same recognisable design language.
Selected versions can also be personalised with meaningful Hong Kong references, such as a school, neighbourhood, location or other connection to the city. This transforms the canvas from decorative word art into a piece that captures an individual or family’s own Hong Kong story.
Designed for homes, offices, bedrooms, studios and hospitality spaces, the collection is ultimately a celebration of place, memory and belonging - Hong Kong told in words.
