THE BRIEF

Little Beginnings is a collection of personalised artwork created to celebrate the arrival of a new baby and preserve the details surrounding those first precious moments.

Each design combines newborn photography, birth details, typography and illustrated motifs within a carefully structured collage. Personal information such as the baby’s name, date and time of birth, birth weight, hospital and birthplace becomes an integral part of the artwork, transforming each piece into a highly individual keepsake rather than simply a decorative print.

The collection takes inspiration from Hong Kong and childhood, incorporating playful illustrations and familiar local references such as junk boats, Chinese lanterns and other Hong Kong-inspired motifs. These elements give the artwork a sense of place, making it particularly meaningful for families whose children were born in Hong Kong or who share a connection with the city.

Soft powder blue and blush pink palettes sit alongside monochrome newborn photography, creating a gentle contrast while keeping the overall aesthetic clean, contemporary and suitable for nurseries and children’s bedrooms. The designs can be presented as traditional stretched canvases or as framed fine-art-style prints, allowing them to evolve naturally from a baby’s nursery into a toddler or young child’s room.

The project also explores how personalised artwork can become a thoughtful newborn, christening or first-birthday gift. Gift vouchers extend the concept further, allowing friends and family to give a bespoke artwork while leaving parents free to select their photographs and personal details.

At its heart, Little Beginnings turns the small details of a child’s arrival into something lasting - a personalised record of who they are, where their story began, and a moment a family will always want to remember.
