THE BRIEF

I designed and developed the website for Villa Bayu Bali, a private luxury villa located on Bali’s Bukit Peninsula. The objective was to create an elegant, image-led digital experience that would communicate the villa’s sense of privacy, space, tropical luxury and relaxed Balinese living, while also functioning as a practical tool for prospective guests.

The design places photography at the centre of the experience, using large-format imagery, generous white space and a restrained black-and-white interface to allow the villa and its surroundings to speak for themselves. The visual approach deliberately avoids the feel of a conventional hotel booking site, instead creating a more personal and aspirational experience that reflects the character of a private villa.

The site was structured to guide visitors naturally from inspiration through to enquiry and booking. Content covers the villa’s different accommodation configurations, facilities, photography, location, local experiences, rates and availability. Villa Bayu can be configured with two, four or six bedrooms, making clear presentation of the different options an important part of the information architecture.

Location also plays a major role in the design narrative. The website positions Villa Bayu above Bali’s Bukit Peninsula, within easy reach of beaches, surf breaks, beach clubs, restaurants and Uluwatu, while retaining the peaceful atmosphere of a private retreat.

Particular attention was given to creating a consistent experience across desktop, tablet and mobile, ensuring that the photography remains impactful while practical information such as villa features, rates, availability and booking details remains easy to access. The rates section also supports direct booking through the website, reinforcing the site’s role as both a brand showcase and a conversion tool.

The finished website combines branding, responsive web design, content organisation and visual storytelling into a cohesive digital presence that sells not simply the property, but the experience of staying at Villa Bayu Bali.
